The boys fencing team remains undefeated with another victory at home against Queens High School of Teaching on November 7th. The foil team won by a score of 45-27, and the épée team won by a score of 45-19.

Because they built up a strong lead, some of the people who do not normally get to fence got a chance to do so. This match was not as close as the last time THHS faced QHST, and the fencers had their opinions as to why. “I think we were more prepared this time.” said sophomore David Daz.

Everyone fenced well, winning their bouts without much difficulty. Senior foil captain Andy Yeung and senior épée captain Jordan Brandwein led the way and helped Harris get the victory. Senior Brian Shtab said “I feel we all did a great job. Everyone fenced strongly, and I was glad to see that subs could also fence in today’s match.”

The boys fencers have one more regular season match left against Benjamin N. Cardozo High School, and they hope to finish the season with an undefeated record, as well as continue to fence well when the playoffs begin.
