Junior Sarah Iqbal on publishing poems

Jason Lalljee February 4, 2014
“December was hung by a lot of prose,” junior Sarah Iqbal writes. “Ink on paper that tormented me/in all its immeasurable aspects. I could say/pieces of me have occupied so many lined pages/the edges of my left hand have grown accustomed/to being black and blue from all the drained pens/despite me being right-handed.”

Townsend Trends: Winter’s warmest (and coolest) scarves

Hallie Wolff February 4, 2014
Fluctuating temperatures in the past few weeks have wreaked havoc on the morning routine of many high schoolers. Getting dressed for school in the early hours of the morning is hard enough for sleep-deprived students, and this wacky weather simply does not help. The most practical way of dressing for the weather, it seems, has been to utilize the technique of layering.

Delivery Man truly delivers

Hailey Lam November 20, 2013
After sprinting several blocks and sliding as silently as I could into a seat at the back of the movie theater, sweaty, exasperated and exhausted, I was ready to dislike whatever was on the huge, rectangular screen in front of me. I was wrong, however, and it only took a few seconds to start a wave of laughter that lasted throughout the movie, Delivery Man.

Holiday 2013 Movie Review: Fall in love with Frozen

Linda Wu November 18, 2013
If you thought Frozen was just another animated Disney movie where the prince saves the helpless princess and they fall in love at first glance, then you’re in for delightful surprise. The film is very loosely based off “The Snow Queen,” a fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson.

The Best Man Holiday is confusing, not cheery

Christopher Artun November 16, 2013
It’s been more than a decade since The Best Man came out in October 1999, but it still had a big enough fanbase to turn out Malcom D. Lee’s new sequel to it, The Best Man Holiday. However, it seems that, with all the high expectations coming with its debut, the movie falls short and isn't the Christmas miracle that loyal moviegoers may have been anticipating.
