On May 30 in the cafeteria after school, the THHS Seekers Christian Club held its annual coffeehouse. The event was open to the whole school and featured a wide range of performances. The theme “Armor of God” was highlighted throughout the event.

“Coffeehouse is our big outreach event for the year – it’s a chance for us to show God’s love to the Townsend Harris community at large and also to connect with other Seekers groups throughout New York City,” said co-president Stephanie Loo.

The coffeehouse started with a “Singspiration,” or songs of worship,  The song “Love is War” by Hillsong United was performed in addition to a testimony of how God’s presence helped to overcome obstacles. Two dances were also performed, followed by a skit. Towards the end of the event there was a collection taken for the Walk for Water charity, which Seekers members had been actively fundraising for all year.

“I am so grateful for everyone’s contributions and kind donations, but most of all I’m thankful that so many people participated,” said senior and co-president Joanna Wong.
