Music, lights, and dancing. What? At Townsend Harris? It’s going to happen at the Mixer after school this Friday in the cafeteria. The Senior Council promises that this year’s main social event will outshine others, with the explosive X-factor being the quality music played by DJ Swift, who DJ’d at last year’s Junior Banquet.

Senior Class President Bailey Chan said “we have a legitimate DJ. He’s quite famous for his parties and dances.”

Senior David Betancur agrees, saying “The DJ from the banquet was good” and that he had fun there.

Senior Pemla Jagtiani adds, “I hope the music is as good as the banquet’s.” She even described DJ Swift’s music from last year as “lit” and looks forward to dancing with her friends at this year’s mixer.

However, David, a ticket seller, said that not many people were buying tickets. Senior Class President Bailey Chan encourages people to attend the event, as the lack of ticket sales and people wanting to attend is disheartening. She states that attending the Mixer will count as citizenship and be a fun experience everyone should have.

In addition to good music and dancing, there will be snacks and drinks sold at the Mixer. According to Senior Annie Hong, there will be popcorn, Rice Krispies Treats, chips, water, and more for sale.

Senior and Ticket Seller Lisa Regidor says that ticket and concession sales help “seniors raise enough funds for senior dues, prom, and senior trip” because it “[makes] senior dues more affordable.”

There’s still time to buy tickets for this Friday’s Mixer. All students can visit the SU Store during their lunch bands and buy tickets for $5.
